What Am I Even Doing Here? Why I Started All Good

Honestly, I never really set out to start a skincare company.

All Good kind of happened because I was tired.

Tired of looking at ingredient labels and wondering what half of the stuff actually was. Tired of products that promised to be "clean" or "natural" but still had a laundry list of ingredients I didn't recognize. And tired of feeling like taking better care of myself meant buying more and more products.

I started asking a pretty simple question:

Can't we just make this stuff better?

That question eventually led me down a rabbit hole of researching ingredients, experimenting in my kitchen, making things for myself, and learning about some of the really simple ingredients people have been using for generations.

And that's where I discovered tallow.

At first, I'll admit, I thought the whole idea was a little weird.

Tallow? On my face?

But the more I learned, the more it made sense. Tallow is incredibly nutrient-rich and has a composition that is surprisingly compatible with our skin. Instead of stripping the skin and then trying to replace what was lost with another product, the idea was to actually feed the skin with good ingredients in the first place.

So I started making my own.

Then I started making more.

Then friends and family started asking for some.

And eventually I realized I might be onto something.

That was really the beginning of All Good.

I wanted simple.

I'm not interested in having 27 products in my bathroom.

I want products that actually have a purpose. Products made with ingredients I understand. Products that I feel good about putting on my skin, my hair, and my family.

That's still the philosophy behind All Good today.

You'll see a lot of tallow around here, along with organic oils, essential oils, botanical ingredients and other things that actually serve a purpose. Our products aren't about throwing 30 ingredients into a jar so we can make the ingredient list look impressive.

They're about less junk and more good stuff.

That's actually where the name came from.

All Good.

Because I wanted the feeling of being able to look at what I was using and think, Yep. It's all good.

But it became about more than skincare.

As I kept making products, I realized that I didn't just want to make another skincare brand.

I wanted to create a little corner of the internet where people could find things that were simple, useful and made with intention.

That's why All Good has grown beyond just whipped tallow.

We've got our NoTox serum, hair products like Tamed and our Deep Conditioning Tallow Hair Mask, Tallow Sunscreen, Bug Out Balm and more.

And yes, I'm still constantly experimenting with new formulas.

Some work.

Some absolutely do not.

There have been plenty of batches that ended up in the trash because something wasn't quite right. That's part of making things yourself. You learn, you tweak, you try again.

But I actually like that part.

Because at the end of the day, I know exactly what goes into these products and why it's there.

I also wanted All Good to feel different.

I don't want you to feel like you're walking into some giant beauty corporation when you shop here.

You're not.

You're supporting a real person who started making things because she wanted something better for herself — and then realized other people might want it too.

That's me.

I'm still the person thinking about formulas, testing products, answering questions, packing orders and wondering whether that new thing I just made is actually going to work for other people too.

And honestly, I love it.

I love hearing that someone tried a product and loved it.

I love when someone tells me their skin feels better or their hair is finally behaving.

I love when someone says, "I can't believe this is made with tallow."

And I especially love when someone who was skeptical gives it a try and comes back saying, Okay... I get it now.

That's the best part.

So why did I start All Good?

Because I wanted better.

Better ingredients, simpler products, less unnecessary stuff.

And products that I could actually feel good about using every day.

I didn't start All Good because I thought the world needed another skincare company.

I started it because I wanted these products for myself.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that a lot of other people wanted the same thing.

So thank you for being here.

Thank you for trying something I made.

Thank you for telling your friends.

Thank you for giving me feedback — even when it's not what I want to hear — because that's how these products get better.

And thank you for supporting a small business that is still very much a work in progress, just like the person behind it.

I'm pretty proud of what All Good has become.

But I have a feeling I'm just getting started.
